The court itself seems very boring. I went with Ruth when she took the government of Alberta to court about the age discrimination business but after getting Ruth to pony up major cash for the case, the government at the last minute did not contest the case. It's shameful. The government of Alberta should pay for Ruth's court costs but no, we have a senior paying for the disorganization in the GOA. Where was I? I was in the beginning of the medical records. After reading again the file, I have to go read the medical records from the Grey Nuns Hospital, the Royal Alexandra Hospital and the University of Alberta Hospital. It's like a sea of print. I also have to request information from the medical files of ten million doctors who have worked with Rebecca. There has been one doctor we have been asking for the medical file since last August and he had yet to give us the file. This begins to feel like serious fiction. Seems like everyone associated with this file is rather lax about requirements to hand over the information. As for the Good Samaritan Society we haven't been given all the information I need to defend myself in court. I was not given all the information by Alberta Health or by AHS because these folks can do whatever they want to do for whatever reason they want to do this junk. Covenant Health has not given me a plain language document explaining the downgrade of my sister from long term care status to SL4 statues. I don't know why all these people who are paid by us are do indifferent to the need for transparency, accountability and heck to do the jobs we pay them for.

#GoodSamaritanSocietyLawsuit--well I still do not have the information I need to defend myself.
When I do get this information-the audits that are missing -I will put this information out for the public.
The Government of Alberta should be doing this public revelation of the audits but government does not work for us -it works for the continuing care industry.
Everyone -Alberta Health, AHS, Covenant Health and the continuing care industry are all in the same lap of partnership.
Where are citizens? We are on the outside begging for information.
Very sad.
But there you go.
I guess the less we know of abuse, non-compliances, failures by the folks at Alberta Health and AHS to do their oversight and regulatory functions -the easier we are to manage as citizen ants.
And if we aren't managed by the simple act of not giving us audit information we can be managed by the Trespass to Premises legislation which prevents us from seeing our own family members or advocating for vulnerable citizens.
Ruth Adria has been through this trespass to premises banning junk and golly gee it is high time we all rose up against it so that citizen ants get the independent appeal process to expose all this retribution junk to the world.

Younger boy has left for NAIT. I heard that it was going to rain or snow today.
Older boy is coming home for break so I don't know if the roads are going to be crappy or not.
I am at the beginning of the medical file as I have to be back and forth to understand the entire file. Then I have to add more data to the affidavit which is the listing of all your evidence for your case.
It's a lot of work but interesting as I now know how to do a legal case if there is a need for it for the Elder Advocates of Alberta Society. Ruth Adria has done some lawsuits because government in Alberta never does anything for citizens until we go to to court but still, it is useful for another person in the Elder Advocates Working Group to have gone through the business of being in court.

Meanwhile Rebecca is sick with a GI outbreak thing. I did not see the RT when I stayed with her yesterday so hopefully the RT came to check on her. She was exhausted and limp on the bed while the BIPAP was on. I can't see her today as I have to swim through information for the court trial that is coming up.
In any case, this is all good experience for the Elder Advocates Working Group. Ruth and the other advocates will be the ghostbusters of the continuing care system.
Being an elder advocate is not a very glowing job. It's very hard for Ruth to go to places where she is given tickets for Trespass and then escorted out by the bully boy and bully girl security forces of hospitals and continuing care facilities. All of this junk is perfectly legal because of the work of the PCs -the good old boys and good old girls of the Conservative Party of Alberta. The guy who was the PC MLA for Riverview told us that they could have put in an appeal for citizens but -nah--they decided against it. An appeal process in the Trespass to Premises legislation would have ensured that folks like Ruth Adria would have got media time with attendant risks of public outcry.
But there you go. We have had the useless PCs. And now we have the useless NDP. No one works for citizens except folks like Ruth Adria:
