Subject: FOIP regulations as pertaining to e-mails to schools
I am asking about the FOIP regulations as pertaining to e-mails that I send to the Edmonton Public School Board, the superintendent of schools, my child's principal and his teachers.
I am very uncomfortable with the requirement of the former superintendent of schools saying that I have to refer all correspondence to a single point of contact.
I have received fresh correspondence from Edmonton Public Schools about this matter.
Can you advise me of the privacy implications of this matter?
I do not want my correspondence to individual people at EPS or my child's school---being read by a third party who will then decide on a response.
I feel this is an unwarranted intrusion into my privacy and that of my child.
I wlll cc this e-mail to the writer of the letter from EPS as well as the current superintendent of schools plus the chair, and future chair of the school board.
